Second project workshop on Fiducial Reference Measurements for Satellite Ocean Colour

Registration is open for the second project workshop on Fiducial Reference Measurements for Satellite Ocean Colour (FRM4SOC-2) taking place on 5 – 7 December 2022 at the EUMETSAT Headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. The event is both in person and virtual, and is funded by the European Union under its Copernicus Programme.

The FRM4SOC phase 2 was launched by EUMETSAT in April 2021 and builds on the achievements of the first FRM4SOC study. It aims to ensure operational access to high quality in situ Fiducial Reference Measurements (FRMs) for ocean colour product validation and algorithm development, and has primarily focused on radiometric in situ water FRMs.

This workshop will review the developed procedures, guidelines and tools and ensure consensus. It will also discuss how to ensure the uptake and adoption of these FRM principles across the ocean colour community.
