Join us to witness the launch of the first satellite in the new Meteosat Third Generation series.  Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) will revolutionise weather forecasting in Europe and guarantee the continuity of data from geostationary orbit, used for weather forecasting, for the next two decades.

The European launch event for the MTG-I1 satellite will involve EUMETSAT and ESA delegates and key partners. It is taking place at ESA’s European Space Research in the Netherlands, this evening.

The development of the MTG weather satellite system is a testament to the successful ESA-EUMETSAT cooperation model, which is supported by a highly competitive European space industry, and has made Europe the world leader in satellite meteorology.
