Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites 52nd plenary meeting

The Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS) is the group that globally coordinates meteorological satellite systems on an operational basis. This includes protection of in orbit assets, contingency planning, improvement of quality of data, support to users, facilitation of shared data access and development of the use of satellite products in key application areas.

In view of the current COVID-19 situation and the expected travel restrictions for the whole year, after consultation of DWD, EUMETSAT has come to the conclusion that an in-person meeting will unfortunately not be possible in autumn 2020. We have therefore decided to cancel the 2020 EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference that was foreseen to take place in Würzburg, Germany from 28 September to 2 October. We thank all of you for the interest, the investment of time you have already taken in writing or reviewing abstracts and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be very pleased to welcome you to next year’s conference in Bucharest from 20-24 September 2021. In 2024, we will again be pleased to host our conference in Germany, together with DWD.
